Owen SterlingA cat killing a rat occurs when the mind attempts to resolve an underlying sense of treachery. The brain uses the image of a predator to act out the removal of a source of deceit.
The dreamer finds that the process of elimination is underway, as the subconscious identifies and disposes of an insidious element that has been present in recent thoughts. This movement toward resolution cleanses the mind. The capacity to confront and end deception remains an active part of the dreamer.
A snake eating a rat suggests that the processing of a betrayal is being driven by a more primal and less regulated impulse than the main dream implies.
A cat eating a rat changes the verdict by showing the predator consuming the defeated deceit. This suggests that the dreamer is currently in a state of transforming a former betrayal into something that serves their own understanding or strength.
