Owen SterlingA grasshopper appears in a dream as a sign of sudden disruption that scatters the focus of the dreamer. This image shows a sudden break in what was being done, forcing the mind to jump between many different things.
The presence of such an insect suggests that attention is being pulled away from a central purpose toward many small, disconnected concerns. This scattering of energy makes it difficult to keep a hold on the work of the day. While this scattering of energy is unsettling, it often reveals exactly where the current structure is most vulnerable to distraction.
The act of eating grasshoppers or buying grasshoppers indicates that the dreamer is actively incorporating these disruptions into their conscious life. This suggests a tendency to invite or acquire new, chaotic elements that further complicate an already divided focus.
A large scale or the presence of a grasshopper in the house increases the impact of the disruption by bringing it into the most fundamental areas of stability. When the symbol occupies a primary living space, the feeling of scattered energy moves from a mere distraction to a direct challenge to the dreamer’s sense of order.
The effort of catching grasshoppers shows a desire to regain control over these sudden interruptions. The dreamer works to gather and hold the many small pieces of attention that have drifted away.
The dreamer seeks to end the distraction by killing a grasshopper. This act is a way to stop the scattered energy at its source.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
