Owen SterlingA kitten being eaten in a dream is the brain’s way of working through the suppression of its own curiosity and playfulness. This occurs when the brain attempts to neutralize impulses of playfulness or vulnerability that feel incompatible with a current state of existence. The sorting of these tender qualities often happens when the psyche perceives them as liabilities to be managed.
The destruction of such a small, innocent symbol suggests a movement toward a more guarded or hardened psychological posture. This process involves the absorption of one’s own capacity for joy by a more dominant, perhaps more cynical, internal force. The dreamer finds that the ability to engage with the world through a lens of wonder is being actively replaced by a more restrictive way of being.
The presence of a cat eating kittens in a dream shifts the meaning from a general suppression to a specific realization of deceit. This happens because a familiar presence is revealed to be working against the dreamer’s own gentleness.
The sight of a snake or a tarantula eating a kitten in a dream indicates that an underlying sense of peril is encroaching upon the dreamer’s capacity for softness. The mind is testing how a sudden, predatory threat might overwhelm the most delicate parts of the psyche.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
