Owen SterlingBeing chased by a ghost occurs when the mind attempts to process an unresolved matter from a previous period. The mind uses this figure to rehearse a confrontation with a memory or a debt that refuses to settle.
The movement within the dream indicates the direction of this mental energy. When the dreamer is the one pursuing, the dream signifies an active attempt to grasp a truth or a debt that has been left hanging. This pressure to reach what moves ahead shows a drive to finalize what was once abandoned.
The sensation of being pursued shifts the focus to an avoidance of a reckoning that has already arrived. An old fear is currently gaining ground. The dreamer finds themselves in a state of flight because the past is no longer a distant concept but an active presence.
The pursuit brings the reality of being overtaken by what cannot be outrun. It is a sign that the time for avoidance has passed. The dream provides a space to acknowledge that the weight of the past is present, which allows for the possibility of eventually facing it.
Running away from a ghost adds the specific quality of distance being maintained. This detail shows that while the matter left hanging is present, the dreamer is still successfully keeping a gap between their current life and the old situation.
A ghost chasing changes the dream from a state of avoidance to a state of being pursued. This shift means the dreamer is no longer the one trying to resolve the matter, but is instead reacting to a pressure that is actively closing in.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
