Owen SterlingHiding gold in a dream is the mind working to shield something of great worth, such as a hard-won position or a private strength. This movement toward secrecy serves to keep a vital internal resource from the reach or the depletion of the outside world.
The act of concealment suggests that the dreamer perceives their own worth or successes as vulnerable to outside influence. A heavy burden arises from the effort to keep these assets out of sight. The dream reveals that what is being guarded is already possessed and remains intact.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
