Owen SterlingShooting in a dream is the sudden release of directed force or a sharp, verbal dispute that breaks through stillness. This process occurs when the mind is attempting to discharge a buildup of tension or to test the boundaries of a conflict that has remained dormant. The dream rehearses a confrontation, processing the impulse to strike out or to defend a position with sudden intensity.
Sudden alarm often accompanies this discharge of energy. If the direction of the force is uncertain, the dream shows an internal instability where the dreamer feels the impact of their own unchanneled impulses. The presence of such a sudden, loud event serves to alert the sleeping brain to a friction that requires attention.
The intensity of these disputes provides a way for the mind to navigate the edges of a disagreement. This allows for a clearing of the air that prevents a more prolonged and stagnant tension from taking hold.
Shooting a criminal changes the nature of the discharge by providing a definitive resolution to a hazard. This action allows the dreamer to eliminate a threat and end a time of uncertainty.
The presence of someone else shooting shifts the focus of the dream toward the perception of an external threat. This detail shows the dreamer experiencing the conflict as something coming from the outside, rather than as an impulse of their own.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
