Swimming in waves is a dream where the mind rehearses the experience of navigating through periods of instability. This movement shows how the brain works to handle the rising and falling tides of a difficult time.
The dreamer encounters the effort of working through these surges to find a way through. When the dream involves struggling against the motion, it points to a state where the energy required to face these shifting circumstances is becoming depleted. This exhaustion is a sign that the current method of coping is reaching its limit.
The capacity to move through the water suggests that the person is currently engaging with the movement of their own circumstances. There is room to find a rhythm within the change.
A dream of swimming in big waves carries a weight of much greater intensity, as the scale of the water suggests a period where the internal or external pressures feel disproportionate to one’s strength. This shift in size changes the dream from a process of navigation into a confrontation with a force that feels much larger than the self.

I think I was in a room with my sister and we put a pillow down on the bed, because someone was coming to sleep over; I think it was one of my kids, no sure. Then we were trying to look for something to cover the pillow with, so I suggested a towel so it would be fresh. Then transitions to the beach. The sand is kinda red and wet. I go toward the ocean and the wave rushes in and sucks me into the ocean. Water feels warm. Then it pushes me back onto land. The waves are rough, not big, just rough.
