Owen SterlingThe moon appears in the night of sleep as a symbol of high standing and the guidance that comes from a light that does not move. This image serves to consolidate a direction by providing a singular light that remains constant even when the terrain below is obscured.
When the brain processes this light, it is organizing how the dreamer stands in relation to an authority or a destiny. This dream can signify a period where the path forward is illuminated by a principle or a standard that sits above the immediate chaos of daily life. A loss of this light or a shift in its clarity is a moment where the internal direction must be found again. The presence of this symbol offers a way to find orientation when the footing of the waking world feels uncertain.
The presence of multiple moons in the sky creates a fragmentation of the guidance, where the dreamer must contend with more than one source of authority or direction. This multiplicity suggests that the singular sense of destiny is being divided into several competing paths.
An eclipse moon marks a temporary obscuring of the light that usually provides direction, suggesting that the dreamer’s sense of purpose is currently hidden.
The moon being huge in the dream intensifies the weight of the guidance, making the influence of destiny feel overwhelming or impossible to ignore.
The experience of the moon falling signifies a moment where the very foundation of the dreamer’s guidance is no longer stable. This indicates that the reliable ground which once offered direction has lost its strength.
The brightness of a bright moon strengthens the clarity of the guidance, making the sense of destiny feel more immediate and certain.
The presence of a red moon suggests that the authority or principle being followed is undergoing a sharp and perhaps difficult transformation.
A blood moon brings an unsettling weight to the light of destiny.
The black moon signifies that the guiding light has vanished, leaving the dreamer to navigate without the link to a larger purpose.
The act of going to the moon shifts the dream from receiving guidance to an active attempt to reach the source of authority itself.
The darkness of a new moon indicates a period where the guidance is withdrawn, leaving the dreamer to navigate without the benefit of an external standard.
A half moon suggests that the guidance is currently partial, providing only enough light to see the immediate surroundings without revealing the full scope of the path ahead.
A full moon brings a peak of recognition and dignity to the guidance of the dream, as the highest point of the cycle shows this authority in its most certain and visible form.

When I looked out the window I saw the moon full and bright green. I pointed it out to the others who seemed unalarmed and continued about the party normally.
