Owen SterlingThrowing up slugs in a dream is the mind and body working to cast out those small, clinging troubles that have become hard to stomach. This process of rejection serves to clear a space that has been occupied by slow-moving or unpleasant psychic residue.
The brain uses this expulsion to rid itself of things that slowly sap vitality without providing any real nourishment. While the act of expulsion can feel distressing, it signals that the mind is no longer willing to contain these minor but corrosive disturbances. This movement toward clearing out the old allows for a more efficient internal state.
