Owen SterlingBeing chased by the government in a dream occurs when the mind works to organize the feeling that social decrees or public expectations are closing in. This movement occurs when the brain is sorting through feelings of accountability or the weight of rules that seem to close in from the periphery of daily life. This dream rehearses the management of the friction between individual freedom and the requirements of an organized world.
The experience of flight before an overtaking presence shows that the dreamer is currently moving away from a significant responsibility or a social obligation. This movement is a way for the sleeping brain to test the limits of how much pressure can be managed before a confrontation becomes unavoidable. The awareness of being pursued by authority signals that the dreamer perceives a loss of control over certain aspects of their public or organized life. The dreamer finds that these internal tensions are a natural part of managing complex environments.
