Owen SterlingGetting a promotion in a dream is a process of the brain rehearsing a formal shift in social or professional standing. This type of dream often occurs when the mind is sorting through recent changes in responsibility or evaluating how a person occupies their current role. The dream functions to prepare the dreamer for a change in how they are perceived by others or how they perceive their own utility.
The elevation in standing is a way for the psyche to test the capacity to hold a new position. This sudden rise in place brings a feeling of being crushed by the new tasks that must be met. Such a dream leaves room for the dreamer to recognize their own readiness for more significant duties.
When the dreamer is getting promoted in a dream, the abruptness of the rise can make the new demands feel like an immense burden. This shift in the dream signifies that the mind is processing the tension between existing abilities and the pressure of increased expectations.
The mind uses a dream of a promotion at work to sort through the connections between daily tasks and the obligations of earning a living. This specific setting grounds the dream in the practicalities of daily obligations and the recognition of one’s contributions to a collective task.
Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
