Owen SterlingWatching a video in a dream is a way for the brain to review the testimony of recent experiences. This process of playback serves to organize the facts of what has been witnessed, allowing the mind to consolidate the way events have been recorded.
The mechanism of this review can sometimes be clouded by the quality of the recording. When the imagery is obscured, the dreamer meets a doubt about what was seen. This happens when the mind cannot confirm its own observations. A clear image allows for a firm grasp on what is known.

Owen SterlingInterpreter interprets your dreams
Many people believe a frightening dream announces something, when more often the brain was simply sorting the days just before it. During the night the mind files what was carried over from recent hours, and what gets filed loudest is what was felt most. A rough night leaves a residue by morning that fades with daylight. Nothing was sent. The sleeper was working, and the work is done.
